Job Details:
Job Summary:  Fabricates and assembles various types of sheet metal materials, parts and assemblies, using hand tools and sheet metal machines, working from blueprints, work orders and verbal instructions.  This position typically works under close supervision and direction.
 
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assemble electronic subassemblies, products, or systems.
  • Works on sheets, plates, tubes and other metal shapes for fabricating, welding and assembling into parts/assemblies/ units.
  • Details location and sequence of cutting, drilling, bending, rolling, punching, welding, using precision measuring instruments.
  • Performs measurements using calipers, gauges and other precision measuring instruments.
  • Uses most hand power tools and basic tools and special jigs and fixtures.
  • Pack and prep electronic subassemblies, products, or systems for shipment.
  • Verifies quality of work.
  • Performs rework as necessary.
Required Skills / Qualifications:
 
High School diploma, or equivalent.
2 years experience working from complex blueprints, sketches, and verbal instructions. 
2 years experience working most power hand tools and precision measuring devices. 
2 years experience working with shop math and trigonometry. 
2 years experience following written and verbal directions, prioritize work, complete multiple tasks, work under deadlines, concentrate and apply craft skills. 
Able to lift 50 pounds.

Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
 
Physical ability to walk and stand for extended periods of time, and work long hours. 
Ability to work on any shift if needed.
