Acara Solutions is helping our Santa Clarita, CA DoD & Aerospace client find a Senior Program Manager to join their organization as a salaried direct employee.
Responsible for the performance of a relatively significant program or multiple programs in accordance with contract requirements and company policies, procedures and guidelines. Program area typically represents more than three functional areas. Also responsible for acquiring follow-on business associated with assigned programs and for supporting new business development by leading proposals.

Defines, launches, and drives mission-critical strategic and operational initiatives in core programs.
Resolves a wide range of issues in imaginative as well as practical ways.
Creates a method of change management including ownership of a documentation library, communication plans, process training, etc. Responsible for complex program management tasks and development of standards and processes for scheduling, administration, and accounting.
Defines, acquires, and allocates budget, staff, and other resources necessary to accomplish the goals and/or objective of the program group/function.
Exercises judgment and delegated authority for planning, directing, coordinating, administering, and executing many routine and complex projects/programs.

The candidate will contribute to weekly and monthly strategic planning, plan execution and technology roadmap updates. The candidate must be able to keep team members focused on schedule milestones and objectives and must motivate team members to develop cost effective, customer-oriented solutions and approaches.
Job Requirements

Required Skills / Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in engineering (electrical or computer engineering preferred)
Min 10 years of program management experience
Min 10 years in strategic planning, competitive assessments, and bidding/acquisition of multi-million dollar contracts
Min 6 years of experience working with the Defense and Aerospace customer community and in serving as a principal point of contact to key military and commercial customers
Min 3 years of Management leadership of annual multi-million dollar budgets
Min 5 years of technical and program leadership experience and familiarity with the Single Board Computer industry and integrated systems development
Min 1 year of EVMS experience (Earned Value Management Software)
ITAR facility - U.S. Persons required
Min 3 years of experience with HW programs including embedded systems

Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
Master's in engineering
