Acara Solutions is helping our Los Angeles space / defense client (specializing in integrated sensor, communication and electronic warfare systems) find a Radar Embedded Software Development Lead to join their organization as a salaried direct employee.
 
An active Secret clearance is required.
 
As an embedded software lead, you will be responsible for taking charge and leading the development effort for a classified radar program. The software lead role is hands-on – the ideal candidate must be familiar with embedded Linux platforms, embedded development in C, and be able to excel under the challenging and dynamic conditions inherit to working with cutting edge technology. Leadership responsibilities include coordinating across engineer disciplines (systems engineering, hardware, etc.), flowing project performance information to finance, negotiating design decisions and trades across stakeholders, planning and executing team software development activities.
 
Job Requirements

 
Required Skills / Qualifications:
Current Active Secret or higher clearance
BSCS or degree in other STEM field
Min 10 years of software development experience
Min 5 years of C/C++ embedded development experience
Min 3 years of supervisory/leadership experience
Min 2 years of experience with Radar
 
Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
  • Earned Value Management System (EVMS) experience
  • Experience with Peta Linux or other variants of embedded Linux
  • Board Support Package (BSP) / firmware development experience
  • Master’s degree or higher in a STEM field
