Description

Acara Solutions is recruiting for a Research and Development Technician with our client in downtown Buffalo, NY!
 
Responsibilities:
  • Prepares prototype in development of new food products
  • Utilizes culinary skills to conduct routine experiments/analyses, evaluating and recording results.
  • Uses and maintains equipment and supplies needed to complete assignments.
  • Performs routine tasks of moderate complexity which require weighing, measuring, observing or otherwise testing materials using a variety of moderately complicated equipment.
  • Adheres to appropriate sample selection and preparation methodologies to ensure the validity of lab experiments and analyses.
  • Upkeeps the food lab/culinary kitchen and maintains a sanitary, safe and orderly work environment.
  • Support shipping and receiving of materials and ingredients for the R&D food lab/culinary kitchen
  • Maintain accurate inventory of dry ingredients in barrels, totes, and Bench Lab
  • Monitor shelves in assigned areas of freezers & refrigerators
 
Job Requirements

 
Required Skills / Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 2 years of baking experience
  • Minimum of 2-year Culinary Program Degree of Associates Degree in Food Science/Technology or related science required
  • Minimum of 1 year of practical knowledge with food preparation, dough, baked goods, pizza, break and baking equipment required
  • Demonstrated culinary skills to create and prepare new product recipes from raw ingredients.

Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred
