Acara Solutions is hiring a Prep Specialist in Montgomeryville, PA. This position is onsite.
Schedule: Monday-Friday/Day Shift
 
Responsibilities:
  • To provide proofs that comply with customer requirements.
  • Download files from the internet, Wamnet or CD, evaluate the artwork for conformity to the company printing process, modify traps and bleeds to ensure printability, and get proofing instructions from PDM.
  • Develop the printing sequence from customer-supplied artwork.
  • Create paper/electronic proofs for customer approval and update PDM.
  • Typeset artwork.
  • Perform daily backup of electronic data
  • Operate the computer-to-plate (CTP) machine as needed.
  • Recreate customer-supplied art to make it usable.
  • Modify files for color (color correction).
  • Save production artwork and return it to the customer.
  • Make link files for production.
  • Interface with customers and artists to resolve artwork issues as needed.
Work Environment:  Office environment within a production facility
 
 
Job Requirements

 
Required Skills / Qualifications:
 
  • 2 years of experience in prepress required 
  • 2 years of experience in printing (both litho and screen printing) preferred
  • Proficient in Quark, Illustrator and Photoshop
  • Proficient in Mac
  • Full understanding of traps and spreads
  • Ability to develop printing sequences
  • Must be able to spend most of the workday focusing on a computer screen and utilizing a keyboard
  • Must be able to distinguish colors across the full color spectrum

Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
 
  • Graphics/Art school
