We are currently looking to hire a dynamic and competent Satellite Service Technician being able to work with minimal supervision within well-defined guidelines. The candidate should ideally be located in Thunder Bay and will be operating in and around the Northern Ontario Area. Regions include Thunder Bay, Nipigon, Terrace Bay, Marathon, Wawa, Sault Ste Marie, Chapleau and Timmins.
Main Responsibilities:
-        To carry out maintenance and service of equipment at customer locations.
-        To stay up to date with product knowledge by reading instruction books, ECBs, referring to other technical information systems, and participating in training programs offered by the company.
-        To apply good standards of engineering practices at all times and promote a professional image of the organization.
-        To commission new equipment in an effective manner.
-        To effectively diagnose mechanical and electrical faults on customer equipment.
-        To ensure that time sheets and other paperwork are signed by the customer when applicable.
-        To advise the operations service manager and/or the service sales salesman of any new business opportunities.
To support the local customer base and develop new customers.
Job Requirements

Required Experience:
-        Certification in one of the following areas: Industrial Electrician, Millwright, Diesel Mechanic, or Air Conditioning / Refrigeration.
-        Experience in the Mining, Pharmaceutical, Foresting or Agricultural Industry would be considered.
-        5-8 years of experience in servicing compressed air equipment preferred.
Knowledge / Educational Requirements:
-        Strong electrical and mechanical knowledge.
-        Candidates with Millwright or Industrial Electrician ticket will be preferred.
-        Interprovincial Red Seal certification would be considered an asset.
-        Good computer skills (MS Office)
Personality Requirements:
-        Able to work independently with professionalism and strong self-management.
-        Excellent customer service and communication skills.
-        Extensive travel to customer locations, including out-of-town and overnight travel.
-        Available for a rotating schedule of on-call work in the evening, on weekends and holidays.
-        Must have a valid driver’s license.
-        Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis and up to 100 lbs. occasionally.
-        Must be able to work in industrial environments including extreme temperatures with continuous walking, reaching, bending and kneeling.
The candidate finalized to be hired will have to clear the following: Physical and endurance test, drug and alcohol test, drivers abstract and credit history.
