ACARA Solutions and our client located in Scottsdale, AZ has a contract to direct hire position available 
Sr. Principal Hardware Systems Engineer
  • Responsible and accountable for the electrical technical planning, scheduling, cost analysis, risk analysis and successful execution of major projects and programs containing substantial, complex electrical content
  • RF (Radio Frequency) is a a must
  • Leads electrical requirements analysis, requirements definition, requirements management, functional analysis, performance analysis (e.g. timing, power, etc.), interface analysis and definition for the design and verification of electrical components, equipment and systems for major programs and projects containing substantial, complex electrical content
  • Leads the requirements and functional allocation to electrical units, modules and components Expert in the principles and techniques of Electrical Engineering
  • Plans and leads electrical engineering root cause analysis for complex electrical issues, conducts experimental tests, evaluates results to formulate and implement solutions to issues
  • Leads the generation and maintenance of electrical work products (i.e. plans, specifications, design documentation, etc.) used for internal consumption and/or deliverable to external customers
  • Develops and presents electrical requirements, concepts, designs, decisions and results to internal management, other organizations, team mates and customers
  • May lead or have significant contributions to technical subcontract management for medium to large subcontracts that may include SOW development, proposal evaluation, source selection, technical oversight, and subcontractor work product evaluation and acceptance
  • Leads electrical reviews of electrical components, equipment and systems
  • Evaluates vendor capability to support product development
  • Applies an expert understanding of the organizationally defined electrical processes throughout the lifecycle of the program or project
  • Participation in the development, maintenance and improvement of the electrical organizational processes
  • Supports the generation of l engineering products by using the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the electrical development life cycle
  • Leads the research and analysis of data, such as customer design proposal, specifications, and manuals to determine feasibility of design or application
  • Selects components and equipment based on analysis of specifications and reliability
  • May be a book boss on a proposal
  • Establishes the overall electrical technical approach on large technical proposals
  • May participate in multi-divisional or multi-company Integrated Product Team or working group
  • May supervise lower level employees
  • Exercises considerable latitude in determining technical objectives of assignments
  • Works on advanced applications that may result in new business for the company
  • Frequent contact with all levels across the entire company
  • Serves as consultant to management and customers on projects and applications
  • May serve as company technical spokesperson
  • Works under consultative direction on predetermined long range objectives
  • Assignments may be self-initiated
  • Works on unusually complex problems and provides creative and innovative solutions
  • May function in a project leadership role
  • Erroneous decisions or recommendations may have long-term effects and may affect the image of the company's technological capability 
Job Requirements

Required Skills / Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering 
  • Minimum of 10 years" experience in Senior Principal Hardware Systems Engineer
Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
  • Master's degree
  • Minimum of 8 years" experience in Senior Principal Hardware Systems Engineer
  • Having broad expertise or unique knowledge, uses skills to contribute to development of company objectives and principles and to achieve goals in creative and effective ways
  • Barriers to entry such as technical committee review exist at this level
