Description

Acara solutions is looking for Electrical Engineer IV for our Client located in Dallas, TX
  • Engineering leadership
  • Requirements definition and decomposition
  • Circuit card design including requirements definition, components selection, schematic capture, printed circuit board (PCB) layout, circuit card assembly (CCA) verification testing and troubleshooting/debug, and documentation
  • Create design review materials and execute detailed design review presentations with technical peers, management, and customers
  • Design, integration, and test of complex analog and digital circuits including digital signal processing
  • Verification of system level requirements
  • Complete assigned tasks on time
  • Gather and analyze data for data-driven decision making / conduct trade-studies
  • Provide budget, cost and schedule input for design assignments.
  • Create/review basis of estimates (BOEs).
  • Must have good interpersonal skills and have the ability to build a good network
  • Perform a wide variety of tasks to gain familiarity with the engineering staff, methods, programs and practices
  • Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization
  • Specialized duties including, but not limited to:
  • Components - BOM/Library Mgmt, Drawing Checker (QC), Vendor/Supply Chain Sourcing/Product Engr/Quality Liaison (OTD, KPIs, EOL/Obsol escence Mgmt), Interfaces (ICDs - HW, FW/SW) support, Sustainment (RMA) support,
  • Opens and maintains a GIDEP account to monitor for any relative component issues.
  • Monitors and stays in contact with OEMs and distributors to monitor market trends.
  • Maintains health analysis of all released/active BOMs for Dallas, includes routine execution of Silicon Expert check
  • Responsible for alerting appropriate engineer/program of component issues.
  • Participates in EE design reviews for component health analysis well checks
  • Assists in the search for alternate components when component availability is an issue.
  • Assists with procurement of long lead or hard to find components separate from circuit card assembly procurement.
  • Works with PMO/planner to assist with procuring parts by part number rather than description
  • so appropriate quality clauses and other contract requirements can be properly flowed.
  • Works with PMO/planner on any incoming inspection or test of components and inventory of components.
  • Acts as a conduit between purchasing and engineering for long lead and other component
procurement issues.
  • Manages activity with future approved brokerage houses and assists with separate verification/validation facility and process flow.
  • Compliance (DFx) - EMI & Reliability Testing, and Independent Reviewer for Peer Reviews, in order to help proactively Reduce prod dev cycle (DFM/DFT/DFR/DFS) For verification/validation activities, creates and/or assists with the development of qualification procedures.
 
Job Requirements

 
Required Skills / Qualifications:
  • Bachelor"s Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum of 8 years" experience in Electrical Engineer IV
  • Minimum of 5 years" experience being lead design engineer and driving new technologies and tools.
  • Minimum of 5 years" experience with the definition and decomposition of requirements.
Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
  • Experience designing circuit card assemblies
  • Experience with schematic capture tools (Cadence, Mentor, Altium, other)
  • Strong documentation and communication skills
  • Experience with integration and test (validation and verification) of circuit card assemblies in new products
  • Familiar with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, digital multimeters, and similar lab test and debug equipment
  • Proven capability executing complex designs in a timely manner
  • Experience with electrical design tools including Cadence Allegro or similar PCB design tools
  • Project Management experience
  • Database experience (PowerBI, Access)
  • Manufacturing/Industrial experience.
  • Masters Degree 
  • Basic Microsoft application skills: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Explorer
  • Must be diligent, hardworking, and quick to learn
  • Good interpersonal, organizational and problem solving skills
  • Good communicator with data analysis, documentation, and presentation skills
  • Mature, professional, positive, and possess a 'can-do' attitude
  • Detail-oriented

Additional Information:
