Acara Solutions has a growing client in Chelmsford, MA who has an immediate need for a Supplier Development Manager! 

Purpose of the Job:
Responsible for direct material supplier Quality and processes. Champion Edwards Quality processes and six sigma best practice tools and techniques, educating stakeholders and deploying throughout supply base. Lead a team of Supplier Quality Engineers to manage reject process, monitor and improve supplier quality. Identify and improve critical process capability to ensure long term quality stability. Lead wider supplier sustainability program

Main Responsibilities:

Drive continuous improvement in reject performance and cost of quality

· Attend daily production meetings and crisis management, minimising disruption to operations

· Manage end to end reject process, including physical part management, system transaction and commercial cost recovery

· Deploy six sigma tools to implement long term solutions, improve DPPM and sustain stable quality

Quality process champion

· Subject matter expert in best practice tools and processes SPC, MSA, PPAP, 8D etc

· Deploy internally and across supply base providing training and support as required

· Identify and improve critical process capability at suppliers to ensure long term quality stability

· Roll out Edwards Quality policy and right from me mindset

· Support Copy Exact (CE) process and 4M change management in supply base

· Lead external (ISO) and internal (Atlas Copco Purchase to Pay) process compliance

Supplier assessment and audit

· Manage supplier audit program and improvement plans

· Participate in new supplier selection process (SESPA)

· Review/approve supplier component control plans

· Review/approve supplier process capability and MSA Specification and measurement gatekeeper

· Ensure drawings and specifications are accurate, measurable and achievable

· Ensure inspection and measurement processes are appropriate and aligned internal vs supplier

Support procurement NPI and transition projects

· Work with Category Management and Engineering to support supply chain transfers. Responsibility for part specification review, defining qualification requirements and part qualification to PPAP.

· Work with NPI teams and Engineering to ensure release of robust specifications/KCs identified on drawings. Define supplier qualification requirements based on part criticality and complexity following PPAP methodology

Lead supplier sustainability improvement program

· Conduct supply base business continuity risk assessments, including heat mapping and audits

· Working with Category Managers, develop prioritised risk mitigation plans
Job Requirements

Requirements/ Qualifications:

· Minimum 5 years experience driving audit and quality improvement in a manufacturing or engineering environment

· 2 years line management or supervisory experience

· Commercially aware, proven ability to influence external suppliers to improve

· Deep understanding of 6 sigma quality tools and techniques

· Inspection/Testing expert

· Excellent communication skills across all levels of an organisation, both internally and with suppliers

· Proven ability to influence stakeholders and deliver positive change

· Minimum Associates Degree required, Bachelors Degree in Engineering preferred

· 6 sigma qualification

· Willingness to travel as when the business conditions and strategies require
