Assist management in interpreting and applying technical regulatory requirements to site activities.
• Assist site operations with the development of site-wide procedures to assure compliance with both company policies and procedures, and applicable local, state, and federal environmental protection laws and regulations.
• Apply scientific methods and principles to analyze and identify site-wide environmental risks and liabilities. Enhance or maintain the environmental strategy, policy, and procedures when needed.
• Review, maintain, and update environmental permits. Perform analysis and tests, collect samples, and maintain data necessary for these permits where needed.
• Conduct routine internal environmental inspections of the site operations to monitor for ongoing environmental compliance.
• Communicate effectively and work with all levels of management in and outside of the company.  Coordinate activities with Safety, Fire, Medical, Auditors, Engineering, and other related departments.
• Participate in the site Chemical Emergency Response Team to handle site environmental incidents.
• Maintain a working knowledge of company, local, state, and federal laws and regulations pertaining to environmental management.  Maintain current and appropriate technical knowledge and skills through appropriate continuing education in technical seminars and conferences.  Actively participate in local and state environmental, trade, and other such organizations for sharing rapidly changing information.
Job Requirements

Required Skills / Qualifications:
Bachelor Degree in Environmental Engineering or related discipline
Minimum 2 years of environmental engineering experience within manufacturing environment

Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
• Knowledge of Federal, State, and local regulations pertaining to the environment. Working knowledge of Fire code and OSHA regulations a plus. Knowledge and training in Hazardous Materials Transportation Regulations a plus.
• Experience or knowledge in chemical handling, waste management, waste water treatment operation, and air emissions.
• First Responders Operation Trained a plus. 24 hour Hazardous Materials Industrial Technician a plus. Must participate in the company chemical emergency response team.
• A team player who is detail-oriented, organized, and task focused with excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Certified for ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management Systems (EMS) Auditor a plus
