Description

Acara Solutions is looking for a Senior Tax Operations Specialist for our Client located in Boston, MA.
  • The Sr. Tax Operations Specialist supports the delivery of the global withholding rates applicable to CLIENT custody clients.
  • This job requires an understanding of tax withholding rates and the ability to review tax changes and implement on CLIENT"s internal systems, including the Action World 2.0 platform, CLIENT"s client matrices, and CLIENT"s tax withholding and reclaims website. 
  • This job is also responsible for implementing all tax rate changes and tax documentation changes to ensure timely updates on internal systems per operational requirements. 
  • Following proper audit control and procedures. 
  • This job liaises with other departments within and across LOBs such as Corporate Actions Income and Tax Reclaim, Client Service Teams and Network Management to ensure that tax rate questions are tracked, resolved and if necessary escalated. 
  • Develop an understanding of the market"s regulatory environment, tax documentation requirements (i.e. IRS Form W9/W8), eligible entity types, and withholding tax environment for assignment countries/client base. 
  • Review and respond to internal client inquiries relating to tax compliance, tax reporting matters or tax documentation matters. 
  • Assists in the maintenance of tax tables to satisfy audit requirements for operational aspects
  • Continues to develop a comprehensive understanding tax rate information from an operational perspective
  • Continues to develop a comprehensive understanding of the detailed knowledge of the CLIENT base with respect entity type
  • Works with manager and Senior Analyst to ensures client tax profile reflect proper application of the tax rates based upon client type, client treaty entitlement and tax documentation requirements
  • Participates in tax market research meetings and takes on tasks to ensure operational impact to all tax issues are being discussed and acted upon 
  • Assists Global Tax Services team with other project
  • Works with Senior Tax Analyst to communicates tax rate changes to other CLIENT departments and external clients through formal and informal documents
  • Performs publishing and editing of Global Tax Services publications and updating the website
  • Assists with specialized client projects
  • Supports the Inquiry Manager Tool 
  • Develop relationship with client service managers
  • Control and Risk Management 
  • Identifies and escalates tax related business issues, operational processes, documentation procedures, that may result in increased CLIENT financial or business risk and assist in resolution
  • Provides statistics as requested to support Management Information Reporting
  • Escalate to senior analyst or manager on tax documentation/ compliance issues to mitigate risk for CLIENT and its clients 
  • Supports testing for any tax related systems and workflow modifications
  • Collaboration and Cross Training 
  • Works with other Global Tax Services internal groups to become more familiar with their requirements to assist those groups when the demand requires 
  • Work with the team to establish and improve procedures for tax compliance related activities 
 
Pay and Benefits:
The salary for this position is $34.00 per hour (Max Pay rate).
 
Job Requirements

 
Required Skills / Qualifications:
  • BS degree
  • Minimum of 2 years" experience in Financial services industry

  • Primary internal and external contacts with whom position interacts, and purpose/nature of contact
  • Global Tax Research Analyst
  • Internal departments (Corporate Actions, Client Services Teams, Network Management) 
  • External Client and Sub custodians regarding inquiries 
  • Tax related experience
