Description

Acara Solutions is looking for an Engineering Technician A for our Client located in San Diego, CA.
  • This is a part time 20 hours per week position where you will be responsible for performing functions associated with working with Engineers during design, development, and test efforts, as well as debugging, and performing rework on circuit cards and test cables.
  • You will be working in an engineering lab environment.
  • Sets up test apparatus and conducts tests of assemblies and units following methods, procedures, standards, and sequences.
  • Collects and evaluates operating data to conduct on-line adjustments to products, instruments or equipment.
  • Modifies equipment by adding, removing, or altering components as defined by engineer.
  • Corrects malfunctions by making adjustments or replacing parts or components as directed.
  • Uses hand and small power tools, and various measuring and testing devices in performing job duties.
  • Monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.
  • Skilled in the understanding and use of state of the art RF and digital electronic test equipment.
  • Ensure compliance to internal policies and procedures within the engineering lab environment with regards to ESD, FOD, Housekeeping, and Housekeeping.
  • Other duties as assigned by engineering management.
Pay and Benefits:                                                                                                    
  • The salary for this position is $ 25.00 per hour (Max Pay rate).
 
Job Requirements

 
Required Skills / Qualifications:
  • Associates Degree
  • Minimum of 2 years" experience as Engineering Technician A

Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated ability to comprehend schematics, logic drawings, layouts, wire lists, and prints.
  • Usually functions in an engineering design, development, and test environment laboratory with exposure to noise from machines, which need certain protective equipment such as goggles and ear plugs.
  • Academic or working knowledge of these types of equipment: Oscilloscopes, digital meters, power supplies, micrometers, calipers, volt meters, spectrum analyzers, logic analyzers, and assorted mechanical or electronic testing equipment, computers, and computer controlled test equipment.
  • Academic knowledge and job experience associated with the field of electronics.
Additional Information:
  • Upon offer of employment, the individual will be subject to a background check and a drug screen.
  • Lift medium weights of equipment and other devices up to 40 lbs.
