Job Summary:

This Senior SAP Business Analyst will work as part of Aleron’s IT Department and will define business and systems requirements for the company’s SAP ERP and supporting business systems. The role will act as lead for both ECC steady-state requirements as well as for the upcoming S/4/HANA upgrade and steady-state operations.  
 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
This will be a lead position in the analysis and development of business system requirements, and include ownership of the following:
 
  • Primary SAP contact for customer or internal design and functional changes to the SAP platform. 
 
  • Documentation management: working under the guidance and supervision of the IT Enterprise Application Manager, develop and maintain a library of all SAP documentation that follows established standards.
 
  • System requirements capture and documentation: work with SAP stakeholders to define, craft and confirm system changes to address specific business needs. 
 
  • Business process requirements: work with stakeholders across the organization to define, design and document new or modified business process that may include system integrations, SAP workflows or other work processes relevant to SAP operations. 
 
  • Will support the SAP team and Scrum Master in sprint planning by contributing in the creation of Scrum Stories
 
  • Design collaboration: work independently or with the SAP functional team to design and document specific system changes to address business need per requirements.
 
  • Prototyping and wireframing: create and lead efforts to demonstrate new requirements through a variety of visual tools including screens mockups, workflow diagrams or simple prototyped functionality.
 
  • Defect Confirmation: responsible for access and report defects, defect status, and testing status accurately and concisely. Assume responsibility for local procedures pertaining to the defect tracking system, including defect creation, resolution, and status reporting.
  • Testing Support: work with dedicated Quality Analysts or execute as assigned, the design and documentation of testing requirements, including expected outputs and system states.
 
  • Training and documentation: as assigned, train stakeholders in SAP functionality or use of and maintenance of all documentation.
 
  • Participate in developing support procedures and implementations following SAP and software best practices.
 
  • Demonstrate effective interpersonal skills to establish personal credibility and rapport with team members, management, and stakeholders. Communicate findings, results, requirements, and timelines in an objective manner.
 
  • The resource will work closely with the SAP team to make sure that business requirement are successfully translated into Functional Requirement and/or technical requirement.
 
Job Requirements

 
Required Skills / Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems (MIS), or Information Technology or four (5) years of related experience in functional analysis, software programming, systems testing, or systems quality assurance.
 
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience working as an SAP Business or Functional Analyst with demonstrated resume of requirements capture to support of modern DevOps processes.
 
  • Strong understanding of the following SAP Functional modules within SAP ECC or S/4:  FICO, MM, SD, HR + Payrolling.
 
  • Strong analytical problem-solving and conceptual skills for analyzing and evaluating major SAP business requirements of varying complexity. Thorough understanding of all parameters affecting and interfacing SAP system/s. 
 
  • Thorough understanding of integration among core SAP modules like Finance including the Special purpose ledger and Procurement.
 
  • Ability to independently facilitate interactive design and functional specification sessions with a variety of business and IT stakeholders to translate business processes and requirements into system enhancements.
 
  • Capable of proactively analyzing processes for possible future systems improvement and suggest alternative solutions.
 
  • Ability to lead detailed system design changes and write associated specifications for development.
 
  • Ability to respond quickly and proactively in a rapidly changing business environment.
 
  • Ability to interface with internal customers to identify areas for systems improvement. Define controls, conversion procedures, and systems implementation plans.
 
  • Ability to act independently and under very general direction to define, implement, and document SAP system changes in support of business process solutions.
 
  • Excellent verbal and written language skills.

Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
    • Experience in a Senior Business Analyst role for an S4/HANA implementation.
      • Experience supporting SuccessFactors Employee Central & EC Payroll.
      • Capable of performing configuration changes and/or preparing functional and technical specifications for ABAP programs.
      • Knowledge about SAP EDI, IDocs, PI and other integration channels.
      • Knowledge in Service Management and Resource related billing is a plus for this role.
      • Understanding of ABAP programming and debugging process and role within SAP DevOps.
      • Experience in functional configuration, systems testing, or systems quality assurance (QA).
      • Knowledge of Agile and Waterfall delivery methodologies.
      • Experience working within a Scrum DevOps model.
      • Experience with Atlassian and related tools, e.g., Jira, Xray, Confluence.
      • Knowledge of IT and QA standards: ITIL, NIST.
      • Demonstrates a general understanding of professional services and shared services organizations.
