Acara Solutions, one of the Nation's largest aerospace staffing organizations, is helping our our Everett, WA electronics aerospace client find a Business Unit Manager to join their organization as a salaried direct staff employee.

This is a position where you will need to bring your operations & overall business management savviness skills to the table. You are comfortable with and have a good understanding of how engineering works, how sales & marketing are driven and the basics of how a product goes through the manufacturing process and gets shipped out to the customer.

As a Business Unit Manager, you will be responsible for the results of your unit - profit and loss, meeting the annual plan, and growth in the value of the business.  You'll lead a cross functional business unit team (sales, operations, engineering and quality), generate new business, prepare proposals, obtain bookings, develop and maintain customer relationships, establish the yearly business plan, negotiate contracts, and oversee operating activities to make sure that we provide great customer service while meeting cost objectives.  This high visibility position has a tremendous amount of growth potential, and could lead to great places within the organization! 

  • Lead and guide the business team in the pursuit of profitable new business and maintain clear focus and priorities in the product team
  • Focus on value creation - value based pricing and identifying profitable new business opportunities
  • Develop annual and long term business plans for the business unit
  • Create a sales and marketing plan to drive new business and meet your unit's goals
  • Partner with the sales team to support business growth and customer retention
  • Work  with the entire organization regarding business targets and actions, including customer meetings and sales calls
  • Oversee and participate in the cost estimation process to make sure that the costs and pricing are accurate
  • Prioritize and coordinate engineering activities to support your business unit's goals
  • Build a strong partnership with operations to make sure that cost goals are met, customer needs are prioritized, and quality issues are resolved
  • Drive and grow a team through coaching and mentorship - focus on the people
  • Prepare and present your unit's results, telling the story of the business unit as an owner would
Job Requirements

Required Skills / Qualifications:
MBA required (they will accept someone that is close to finishing their MBA). 
Min 3 years of manufacturing experience (experience could be in sales, operations, finance or engineering within a manufacturing environment in aerospace or similar).
Min 2 years of experience leading/managing employees within an manufacturing organization.
Min 5 years of Microsoft Excel (good at analyzing data)

ITAR facility - U.S. Persons required
