My international client has a new Business Development Manager opening! Experience in the Coating and Civil segment required. This position is full time work from home. 

Formulate and execute of the strategic plans for the Region in Coating & Civil segment and build sustainable competitive strength & customer engagement to grow business and profitability in the region.

Job Description:
Business Development –Coatings and Construction segment is a key role, to drive growth in the segment. In particular driving specialty growth in C&C segment by partnering with customers and creating value by providing solutions to their customer’s problem. Bringing in niche applications and gaining approval for advanced technologies / Chemistries. Key dimensions are building strong project pipeline on specialty products, Conversion rate of (%) of commercialization on the approved products. 

Major Challenges:
  • Increase sales of value added and customized products in these segments which are dominated by entrenched players. Developed countries are still remain largest market for speciality products who are not very keen to switch over/entertain Asian suppliers as they are considered very critical for performance.
  • Profitable growth in slow growth market and aggressive competition
  • Business development need in terms of market penetration (new customers), value differentiation (new applications)
  • Focus on specialty product growth and manage the shift from regular Products.
  • Build a stronger pipeline for future growth and segment based growth strategy
  • Obtaining market intelligence for the region
  • Identification of emerging customer needs introduction and coordination of new product development to maintain and sustain growth momentum.
  • Ensuring co-ordination with Sales Team consisting of area sales managers  who are not direct reportee, sales people at distributors end in close coordination with Application development team. 

4) Principal Accountabilities

Supporting Actions
Build a strategy road map for C&C segments.
  • Based on inputs from the regional customers & market, the strategy road map to be built for each of the target segments
  • Includes focus product, focus market, focus application, focus customer details
  • Value creation over competition
  • Define action plans with responsibilities 
Business Development and Value Creation
  • Business development through:
    • New customers
    • New applications
    • New products
  • Effective engagement of cross functional team with customers to create value. 
  • Understanding customer’s changing needs & pain areas and coordinate resolution internally. Showcase our product features to create interest.
  • Achieve new product approvals through efficient sampling process.
  • Gain approval and complete the first commercial order after the approval. 
Drive New product development & horizontal replication in region and build a strong pipeline of projects
  • Understanding possibilities to (a)
migrate from product supplier to system provider (b) replace other polymers & materials (c) joining with other polymer suppliers for offering hybrid systems.
  • Coordination with selected key customers in the region and evolve new futuristic projects with reasonable business potential.
  • Process owner for lead management system
  • Co-ordinate with R&D team to develop solution to customer. Monitor progress and feedback.
  • Once successful, participate in various relevant industry forums to influence perceptions and create interest from other customers.
  • Plan & track sampling and follow up for approvals from customer (for existing product)
Develop market intelligence, and support the sales team with adequate inputs
  • Understand Competitor activities for product portfolio & services and benchmark the same
  • Understand price benchmarking through interviews, Trade data, market research reports and convert them to customer specific action plans. Create buy in from Sales team and Regional head & implement the same.
Create market visibility for Epotec / Cetepox brand in the region
  • Organize events to show case our products to existing customers, distributors & new/ potential customers
  • Participate in seminars & trade shows to showcase our products & capabilities
  • Create good image through directly or indirectly publishing articles in technical journals for creating interest for our products.
Staff training and development.
  • Functional training needs assessment of sales staff within company and working with our distributors; arrange training in coordination with R&D and ADC.
  •  Counseling with staff on their job and personal matters.
  • Sharing of market information and business scenario.  
Job Requirements

Required Skills / Qualifications:

- Minimum 10 years experience in Business Development experience within the Coating and Civil segment.
