Description

Acara Solutions is looking for a EAP Operations Specialist I for our Client located in Houston, TX.

  • Performs a variety of complex and specialized administrative support duties requiring the application of advanced administrative skills and a thorough understanding of department programs, processes, and procedures; exercises independent judgment and discretion associated with high level administrative work.
  • Obtains sensitive and personal information from clients or clients' relatives and assists with the coordination of EAP services that best meets the clients' needs.
  • Quickly assesses high stress situations and determines if an individual is experiencing a personal crisis or is in distress and takes appropriate action.
  • Ensures customer satisfaction by providing timely and accurate information when responding to customer inquiries via contact forms and Horizon messages.
  • Utilizes good judgment in responding to client inquiries and documenting customer calls.
  • Makes routine to complex decisions and judgment based on information provided by the client.
  • May assist with or make recommendations regarding complex or impactful decisions.
  • Must possess the ability to deal with crisis and highly emotional clients while maintaining personal and emotional equilibrium.
  • Must possess the ability to empathetically relate to people and to maintain information as highly confidential and be knowledgeable of patient rights and laws pertaining to Protected Health Information (PHI).
  • Participates in the daily operations of the department which may include processing authorizations, assists with dissemination of information to internal and external Providers and other administrative duties assigned.
  • Assists Provider Relations with maintaining confidential, accurate, and up-to-date files of network providers, including the credentialing and re-credentialing process, quality assurance, verification of licensure and absence of government sanctions.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
 
Job Requirements

 
Required Skills / Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum 1 year experience in a social service or related healthcare setting with admissions/call intake functions).
Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook.
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal; excellent attention to detail, skilled multi-tasking ability, demonstrated commitment to follow-through of assigned tasks and projects, and exceptional customer services skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Exhibit skills in dealing courteously with the public and individuals within the organization.
  • Demonstrate excellent time management and sound organizational skills.
  • Excellent Customer Service skills - maintains a positive, empathetic, and professional attitude and tone with clients during all interactions.

Additional Information:

  • Upon offer of employment, the individual will be subject to a background check and a drug screen.
  • Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally or up to 10 pounds frequently or a negligible amount constantly to move objects.
