Acara Solutions is looking for a Sr. Test Engineer- Electrical for our Client located in Waltham, MA

  • Client is a global technology leader in robotic-assisted vascular interventions.
  • The company's CorPath® system is the first FDA-cleared medical device to bring robotic-assisted precision to neurovascular, percutaneous coronary and peripheral interventions.
  • client is advancing the field of interventional medicine with robotics through improvements to procedural control, precision, and workflow.
  • The Sr. Test Engineer - Electrical will contribute to new product development by design and development of electromechanical test set ups, performing tests, preparing reports, and presenting to the team.
  • You will be an important contributor to realizing the next generation of interventional robotic platform.
  • This position will work with new and existing medical device products, wiring test instrumentation, perform data acquisition, and debug electro-mechanical systems.
  • This is a collaborative opportunity where you will work cross-functionally with Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Manufacturing, and external vendors.
  • This role is suited for hands-on, problem solver engineering techs who are interested to work in a fast-paced environment and learn from a strong engineering team while adding value to the assigned projects.
  • Design electromechanical test fixtures to assist test operations and assembly
  • Test new or existing products in the development cycle to characterize performance
  • Develop and revise test protocols, test reports, assembly procedures, and work instructions
  • Wire and install motors, drives, racks, and motion control equipment
  • Support the R&D group in the conceptualization and application of new technologies
  • Build, test and troubleshoot assemblies. Build electronic cable assemblies per prototype cumentation
  • Maintain and upgrade electromechanical and robotic systems as well as test setups

 

Pay and Benefits:                                                                                                    

  • The salary for this position is between $50.00 per hour (Max Pay rate).
 
Job Requirements

 
Required Skills / Qualifications:
  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Mechanical/Robotics Engineering
  • Minimum 5 years of electromechanical R&D engineering experience; preferably in medical device or other regulated industries.
  • Minimum 2 years' Experience with high precision measurement equipment
  • Minimum 2 years' Experience with electrical systems (bring-up, installation, troubleshooting)
Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
  • Experience working with PCBAs, cables, motors, and sensors
  • Ability to read electrical schematics
  • Experience with electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), electrostatic discharge (ESD), thermal, and network tests
  • Experience using, modifying, and programing LabView routines
  • Experience with statistical tools and software such as Minitab
  • Ability to multitask and work under aggressive deadlines are critical to success
  • Execute assigned projects and duties with minimal supervision
  • Proficiency in using MS Office
