Description

Acara Solutions is hiring an Engineering Technician for our client in downtown Buffalo, NY!! Our client is a non-profit organization whose mission is to drive next generation technologies in vascular medicine. In this role, you will create product designs and experiences that strengthen medical device innovation!!

Type: Direct Placement
Pay: $50K+/yr. DOE
Hours: M-F 1st shift

Job Duties and Responsibilities Include:
  • Assemble prototypes of innovative devices.
  • Develop tools and processes to enable prototype/device creation.
  • Design and assemble equipment and test fixtures leveraging mechanical and electrical skill sets with engineering guidance.
  • Perform testing to engineering specifications.
  • Support engineer project leader with modifications in written procedures and suggested improvements in making product or sub-assemblies.
  • Keep track of materials, tools, and procedures as the device are manufactured.
  • Identify nonconforming product and support root cause investigation alongside engineering.
  • Apply GMP and GDP principles to assembly, test records, and documentation.
  • Train and mentor new technicians in assembly and test operations.
  • Produce small assembled parts according to procedures (both verbal and written).
  • Run equipment such as an adhesive dispenser, vertical shrinker, braider, tipping machines, drilling, punching, and measuring devices to assemble catheters and parts.
 
Job Requirements

 
Required Skills / Qualifications:
  • AAS Degree in a technical field.
  • Minimum 1 year of working experience in a research and development position.
  • At least 1 year experience in an assembly and test role.
  • Experience with documentation and assisting with written procedures.
  • Proficient in solid modeling software (SolidWorks preferred).
  • Able to use all Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
  • Medical device experience preferred.
