Seeking a VP of Finance for a medical device organization in Buffalo, NY. As Vice President - Finance (VPF) you will direct, oversee and manage the financial activities of the organization, direct the preparation of current financial reports and summaries, optimize value of organizational offerings (pricing and cost management), ensuring fair market value, create forecasts predicting future growth, generate business models for new ventures and manage financial risk assessments of projects. This position would also include managing financial functions of controlled business entities and affiliates.
Once onboard, you will:  
  • Manage Accounting department functions, financial statement preparation (including analysis of monthly results and preparation of budgets/forecasts), board meeting materials, new business/new contract evaluations, the relationship with the outside auditors, and other functions as assigned..
  • Work with other department heads to monitor each department and make financial recommendations/improvements on pricing for services and costs to deliver services as needed.
  • Direct the preparation of all financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, shareholder reports, annual audited financials/tax returns (working with outside auditors), and governmental agency reports, including special reports needed for compliance with not-for-profit status as well as needs of controlled entities and affiliates.
  • Oversee and conduct financial modeling for the company including i2R (idea 2 Reality) project assessments and evaluations as needed.
  • Develop and tailor financial models for company affiliates, entities, program offerings and partnerships.
  • Work with the Chief Operating Officer (COO) to analyze operations to identify areas in need of financial improvement. 
  • Work closely with executive management to coordinate planning and establish priorities for the planning process.
  • Assist in developing strategies for timing of and financing of potential new commercial ventures emanating from the company, its holdings and affiliates.
  • Remain knowledgeable on long-range economic trends and their impact on future growth assumptions.
  • Assist in identifying opportunities for expansion into new areas.
  • While this position reports to CEO, a team/collaborative approach is envisioned with involvement of the VP Finance with all department heads at the organization and affiliated entities.

Target Salary: $ 150-180 K
Job Requirements

Required Skills / Qualifications:
  • Masters degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance.
  • 10+ years of experience in financial management

Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
  •  CPA preferred
  • Excellent management and supervisory skills, analytical and organizational skills, written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in database and accounting computer application systems.
  • Ability to work in a regulated environment in compliance with ISO 13485 and 21 CFR 820
