Description

Acara Solutions is looking for a Shipper Receiver for our client located in Georgetown, ON.
* Receives items by unloading vehicles; accepting deliveries; unpacking containers;
* Examine delivered articles for nature and quantity according to packing slip or other documentation;
* Ensures packing slip or documentation matches the purchase order or other documentation;
* Ensures Hold tags (returned & regular) are put on goods, checking for damage;
* Enters goods into the computer system or logging them manually;
* Attach barcode and record goods into the IXOS system;
* Label shipments to ensure proper documentation;
* Stage shipments for delivery;
* Stock shelves in the Receiving office with received goods & returns;
* Move heavy equipment, bringing supplies to the appropriate department;
* Provide department deliveries;
* Communicates with purchasing department, returns department, and truck drivers;
* Delivers or picks up parcels if required in company vehicle (i.e. airport, suppliers, etc.) when necessary;
* Loads and unloads trucks;
* Marks company identification number on tools & inserts;
* Complete deliveries to Canadian and U.S. Customers/Suppliers when necessary;
* Completes non-compliance forms (over shipment, Shipper/Receivers reports, etc) when necessary;
* Make recommendations for productivity and/or method improvements.
* Report discrepancies to the appropriate department;
* Ensure ISO guidelines are followed;
* Complete minor troubleshooting as required;
* Notify the Supervisor when work will not meet established time lines;
* Make recommendations for productivity and/or method improvements;

The Shipper/Receiver is responsible for maintaining the quality standards of the organization and the customer. Recording of components and products must be labeled appropriately. The incumbent in this role will liaise with different departments on damaged goods. Responsible for secure and safe transportation of components and finished goods; responsible for maintaining company records in an electronic database. The incumbent in this role will be responsible for decisions regarding the daily transfer of parcels and goods for the company. They will independently assess if hold tags are necessary and will notify the appropriate party when goods are incomplete or damaged.
 
Job Requirements

 
Skills/Experience:

* A Minimum of twelve (12) months of equivalent training/experience, basic proficiency with computers preferred;
* A Valid lift truck safety and manufacturing experience is an asset.
* Experience with an ERP system (SAP) preferred.
* Ability to interpret/log packing slips and purchase orders; and ability to work independently with minimal supervision;
* A variety of Physical and Sensory demands are required throughout the shift, including the lifting of heavy materials with use of the fork lift

Education:
Should be a High School Diploma Pass out.
