Description

Acara Solutions is looking for a Senior Project Manager (Tech) for our client located in Houston, TX.

  • To create and update project plans, schedules for one or more projects using PPM Pro.
  • Ensures project plans specify goals, strategy, and staffing, scheduling, identification of risks, contingency plans, and allocation of available resources.
  • Plans, directs, and coordinates activities of project team to make sure project progresses on schedule within budget.
  • Leads a wide variety of projects from technical/infrastructure upgrades to pure business process improvement initiatives.
  • Provides leadership motivation to project team members throughout the project life cycle.
  • Manages and oversees vendor's relationships including 3rd party implementation or development teams.
  • Provides weekly status reports to the senior management key project stakeholders.
  • Prepares a variety of periodic and ad hoc reports for technical management and business groups and distribute project related data & documentation as appropriate
  • Project status reports, vendor information, sows, requirements documents, policies procedures documents.
  • Performs business analysis process engineering activities on smaller projects.
  • Ensures that all relevant project documentation is kept up to date.
  • Manages business expectations, project issues, decisions risks, including escalation to sponsors.
  • Oversees all project activities on a day-to-day basis to make sure on-time completion of planned tasks.
  • Communicates with both technical and non-technical users produce project documentation.
  • Coordinates and facilitates project meetings - regular ad-hoc.
  • Leads a cross-functional, multi-sourced project teams that could be in another facility within the county.
  • Adheres to project management standards guidelines using the project management framework.
  • Works closely with PMO IT Manager in building out project management best practices, standards, guidelines templates documentation.
 
Job Requirements

 
Required Skills / Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Technology
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in Analyst, project management, program management, technical, or business.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in Project management in a client service environment.
Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
  • Highly collaborative team player.
  • Detailed oriented / quality focused.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively to both technical peers and business customers of all levels.
  • Core knowledge of Cloud Computing, Cybersecurity, Data Management, Software Development.
  • Communicate effectively at all organization levels.
  • Excellent time management, organizational, and analytical skills are essential.
  • Must be flexible and willing to adapt to change.
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal and written/oral communication skills.
  • Ability to interact with staff at all levels.
  • Knowledge of software, Microsoft Office, MS Project, Visio, SharePoint.
  • MBA or equivalent.
  • Master's in computer science, Information Technology.
  • Agile certification.
  • PMP certification.
  • Minimum of years' experience in project management experience delivering technical solutions.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in managing teams in a project environment.
  • Experience operating in an agile environment.
  • Experience in government.
  • Strong character and soft skills, flexibility, analytical ability, and emotional intelligence.
