Description

Acara Solutions is looking for a Controls Engineer for our Client located in Rockledge, FL

  • Designs control systems for industrial material handling solutions.
  • Plan and prioritize work under general direction with production requirements as primary driver.
  • Design and install retrofits to existing systems and supports projects of all sizes
  • Performs diverse, specialized and complex work involving significant accountability and decision-making
  • Prepares schematics and specifications
  • Maintains a progress schedule that meets project milestones
  • Provides documentation and support to the production team
  • Creates Programmable Logical Control (PLC) programs
  • Works closely with the Engineering team to integrate control solutions
  • Implement and validate the system design
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, and instrument problems.
  • Based on customer specifications and scope documentation, designs system layouts, schematics, and control devices
  • Creates control sequence of operation documents to ensure that the design meets customer expectations
  • Follow established protocols, conduct experiments, document results, prepare reports and make presentations to management regarding process and equipment modifications designed to correct designated problems.
  • Setup, editing, networking and troubleshooting of Allen Bradley PLCs (Control Logix, PLC-5, and SLC's).
  • Machine safety systems/devices (E Stops, Light Curtains, guard interlocks)
  • Reviewing and updating electrical drawings with AutoCad or modelling software
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to maintain work flow or respond to emergency conditions.
  • Adheres to all company policies and procedures.
  • Maintains work area in a clean and orderly condition in accordance with 5 S standards.
  • Requires the ability to perform all duties within limitation of the standard methods and procedures, and in accordance with strict adherence to HSE, quality and productivity requirements.
  • This position operates in a professional office and manufacturing environment.
  • Routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

 

Pay and Benefits:                                                                                                    

  • The salary for this position is between $38 and $45 per hour (Max Pay rate).
 
Job Requirements

 
Required Skills / Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from a ABET
  • Minimum 2 years of practical Manufacturing experience.
Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
  • Perform functions related to controls engineering supporting manufacturing, maintenance and engineering departments with controls necessary to achieve results.
  • This role has a wide variety of duties, requiring ability to gain full understanding of production processes and exercise judgment to modify controls to effect changes.
  • Examine specific problem areas and efficiency opportunities and devise solutions.
  • Determine process and equipment modifications to produce technological improvements and equipment reliability goals.

Additional Information:

  • Upon offer of employment, the individual will be subject to a background check and a drug screen.
  • There will be a need to enter the production floor and employee may be subject to hazards including fumes, odors or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts or vibrations and noise.
  • This requires ability to safely maneuver throughout the plant and properly wear safety gear at all times. May be subject to environmental conditions.

  • Travel up to 25%
