Acara Solutions Client located in Denver, CO is looking for a 100% Remote System Administrator to help scale blockchain-related hosting services to new levels. This role would aid in the monitoring, error detection, and reporting of thousands of hardware components to ensure high reliability of services.

  • Remote service technician (machine monitoring, managing & answering tickets)
  • Analyze network and node performance data in order to identify and quickly diagnose node and network failure modes
  • Ensure device data collection tools are running
  • Run performance reports to send to accounting for billing purposes
  • Deploy scripts and tools to remotely troubleshoot, diagnose, and remedy machine failures 
  • Analyze performance data to detect and report anomalies
  • Reconcile API data output from various sources to ensure accuracy
  • Ensure security protocols are followed and monitor security-based metrics for anomalies
  • Monitor network traffic and performance needs to ensure sufficient bandwidth, latency, and reliability
  • Work with on-the-ground Operations personnel to diagnose and troubleshoot network and node failures as needed
  • Develop detection strategies and deploy alerting to identify malicious activity.
  • Work with software engineers to implement and integrate machine monitoring and management tools for internal purposes, and eventually deploy some access to end users
  • Work with software engineers to help integrate a tech support ticketing system, optimizing for quick response
  • Work with network engineers to inform the design and optimization of network at scale
  • Participate in the process of generating and analyzing features.
Job Requirements

Required Skills / Qualifications:
  • A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, OR several years of experience with relevant system administration experience.
  • Sysadmin experience (monitoring and reporting failed equipment).
  • Familiarity with Windows and Linux environments preferred.
  • Expertise in at least one modern programming language (e.g., C++, Python, Go, Java…) preferred.
  • Experience in maintaining data-analytics and data-pipeline services (e.g., Elasticsearch, Grafana, Minio, Spark, PrestoSQL/Trino) preferred.
  • Experience with agile development methodologies.
  • A 'generalist' who can learn new APIs, tools, and languages as needed to solve a variety of problems.
  • Good written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills in English.
Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of blockchain technology / mining pool industry.
  • Experience with digital currency custody and general blockchain principles.
  • Familiarity with Windows and Unix/Linux environments.
  • Experience with TCP/IP and network programming.
  • Experience with computer hardware repair.
