Description

SDI is looking for a Buyer for a 12-month Remote contract

  • The purpose of this position is to implement supply chain initiatives and activities for commodities in accordance with the business strategic requirements set forth by Procurement.  
  • The incumbent will be responsible for all tactical aspects of supply chain procurement including processing, product/service cost reduction, supplier negotiations, strategic procurement, quality, service/delivery improvements, VA/VE, project management and supply base reduction.
  • IT technical hardware & software, development tool, services, licensing, maintenance renewals, services, and support of medical device manufacturing.
  • $20-35 million purchase spend
  • Direct business unit/operations interface acting in liaison capacity for purchasing
  • Multiple commodities
  • To act as lead strategist    
  • Develop and Implement sourcing strategies
  • Work with suppliers to obtain cost-saving contracts/material cost reduction
  • Supply base reductions
  • Supply chain optimization
  • Supplier certification and contract compliance via maintaining procurement related data integrity in the WHI business system per SOX, ISO 13485, FDA regulations, and good manufacturing practices
  • Implementation of value chain improvement initiatives
  • Supplier delivery, quality improvements, and waste reduction
  • Experience with local financial system IFS AB (Industrial and Financial Systems) as well as SAP / Ariba
  • Primary commodity responsibility and/or business unit regional responsibility
  • Support tactical requirements of position/processing P2P (Purchase to Pay)
  • Provide administrative support for management team
  • Maintaining compliance with policies and procedures to assist in maintaining strong internal controls with appropriate segregation of duties and follows proper approval protocols.
  • Advise manager on new developments and evolving organizational needs and required competencies that may be identified during the normal course of work.
 
Job Requirements

 
Required Skills / Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or Finance or Accounting 
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in Purchasing commodity in applications.
Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
  • Supply Chain certification
  • Exposure to Purchasing best practices.
  • Self-motivated/self-directed, flexible, experienced working independently and thrive in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment
  • Willingness to travel (Currently Under 10%)
  • Strong service and Tier 1 business perspective.
  • Strong leadership skills required with a demonstrated ability to gain consensus in cross-functional team atmosphere.
  • Ability to administratively assist both Director and VP about scheduling and special projects.
  • Excellent computer skills: proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is a must (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
