Description
Acara Solutions is looking for an Mechanical Inspector for our Client located in Palo Alto, CA
- Performs inspection on primarily mechanical features of assemblies, sub-assemblies, parts, and components for conformance to specifications, assembly practices and established standards (including packaging procedures, finishes, dimensions, etc.) with general supervision.
- Performs routine mechanical tests and measurements to the degree of accuracy as specified in the documentation.
- Uses complex blueprints, assembly drawings, engineering drawings, and other specifications to assure product conformance to specifications.
- May apply knowledge of the true position tolerancing.
- Understands and uses standard inspection tools following written or verbal instructions.
- May recommend and define improved inspection methods and procedures
- May train other inspectors or assemblers in production skills and quality standards
- May perform inspection of precision ground optics, replicated and vacuum coated optics requiring use of related glass fabrication/inspection equipment.
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Pay and Benefits:
- The Salary for this position is between $ 25.00 and $ 30.00 per hour (Max Pay rate).
Job Requirements
Required Skills / Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum of 5 years' quality control inspection work experience in a manufacturing environment
Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
- Ability to assure products confirm to specifications by reading and interpreting blueprints, assembly drawings, and process documentation.
- Strong knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) fundamentals.
- Ability to accurately perform mechanical inspection processes using a CMM, optical CMM and various mechanical measuring tools
- Competent in Microsoft windows and database applications, basic algebra, geometry, and trigonometry.
- Excellent recordkeeping skills and attention to details
