Description
Acara Solutions is looking for a Senior Machinist for our Client located in Fairfield, CA
- Senior be capable of setting up and machining parts using fixtures or CNC machining centres by following the written directions provided as part of the job.
- At times, work with a Melding
- Helper to increase the throughput on the equipment.
- Responsible to direct the activities of the moulding Helper and ensure that they comply with the job requirements.
- They are also responsible for the completeness and accuracy of all work being done at their work cell.
- Senior will also be able to run any job in the department including first article production runs.
- They can run all equipment in the tool manufacturing and maintenance area.
- They will also be able to decide proper tooling and fixtures for new programs and develop the necessary programming for the CNC equipment.
- To qualify as a Machinist - Senior, the employee must have a score within a certain range as defined by the skills matrix.
- If the employee falls out of this range, they are moved to the corresponding position for the rating earned.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Lead/Supervisor or designee.
- Can do process development type tasks on any new job in the area and can lead others.
Pay and Benefits:
- The Salary for this position is $35.00 per hour (Max Pay rate).
Job Requirements
Required Skills / Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in Senior Machinist
Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
- Ability to setup and operate computer controlled equipment.
- Able to work and communicate as a member of a team.
- Be able to communicate clearly (written and verbal) in English.
- Ability to convert weight and length units of measure such as inches to mm and pounds to grams.
- Be able to follow written and verbal instructions for machine operation.
- Have math skills and basic computer skills.
- Able to use a calliper and micrometre for detailed part in-process measurements.
- Each operator is evaluated in many proficiency areas on the skills matrix every six months.
- Learning the basics on that skill and can assist others.
- Has been trained and is fully proficient to run simple jobs unassisted.
- Ability to run most jobs and train others.
- Ability to run any job and train others.
Additional Information:
- Upon offer of employment, the individual will be subject to a background check and a drug screen
- Mechanical aptitude.
- Maintain work areas in a neat, orderly, and safe condition.
- Must be capable of lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Excellent attendance, ability to work overtime, weekends, and off shifts as needed.
