JOB TITLE DESCRIPTION:
The SAP HANA BASIS Administrator is responsible for the management of our clients SAP environment. The responsibilities include configuring, monitoring, tuning, and troubleshooting the SAP technical environment on an ongoing basis as well as scheduling and executing the SAP transport system. When needed the administrator will also be required to co-ordinate and assist in ERP/EDI/IT activities and business systems projects.

Salary: $65,000-80,000k depending on experience. 
Location: Windsor,ON but comfortable traveling and supporting different locations a few times a year.

This position Directly reports to: ERP Manager

RESPONSIBILITIES AND AUTHORITIES:
The responsibilities and authorities for this position include, but are certainly not limited to:
  • The SAP HANA BASIS Administrator, working under the direction of the ERP Manager, is responsible for all day-to-day and extended activities that support and sustain the uninterrupted availability, performance, and improvements of the SAP environment.
  • The administrator would be required to undertake all administration work including setup, onboarding, offboarding of users, managing users/groups, (grant/revoke/reassign) roles & permissions, setup devices (printers & scanners), monitoring routine tasks and background processing, respond to notifications/alerts, spooling/printing errors, client administration, overseeing back/restore activities (when needed), configuring additional security & data protection/privacy services, periodic review and follow-up on audit logs, troubleshooting network, single sign-on (SSO) capability and integration with other cloud and on-premise sub- systems, maintaining databases, and exporting data via user interface and APIs etc.
  • The administrator must be familiar with the SAP HANA administration tools (Cockpit, Studio, Measurement Tools, Solution Manager) and activities including landscape monitoring of multiple systems, starting/stopping system, managing tenant databases, configuring INI files, HANA licenses, client certificates, monitoring HANA databases, tables & performance, data storage, tiering, encryption, workload management, SAP HANA lifecycle management, deployment infrastructure administration, application run-time services, Smart Data Access etc.
  • Register, collect details, troubleshoot, update, provide solutions and close routine issues using IT Helpdesk system and escalate issues as needed in a timely manner.
  • Work with system users and IT professionals (internal/external) to close incidents, introduce changes and complete projects in live, development and test environments.
  • Assemble and present data/information for programming enhancements and break-fixes while using existing or new applications, procedures, connectivity options and/or reports.
  • Assist department managers, plant associates and end users with training on software applications and understanding of workflows/documentation.
  • Provide evidence in support of conformance with applicable standards, procedures, and participate in corrective action activities as necessary during management system audits.
  • Promote customer-focus (both external and internal) and an atmosphere of teamwork while always maintaining data/information in confidence.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND/OR DESIGNATION REQUIREMENTS:
This position requires the following minimum education qualifications:
Post-secondary degree or diploma majoring in Business and minoring in Information Technology.

MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
This position requires the following minimum work experience qualifications:
  • Minimum 3 years in a Business Systems Analyst role in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience configuring, implementing, administering, and maintaining enterprises systems while collaborating with IT stakeholders and multiple vendors is required.
  • Working knowledge of SAP S/4 HANA (Cloud) BASIS Administration, servicing a multi-site manufacturing environment is required.
  • Ability to visualize business problems as an end-user, gather functional requirements, validate with relevant data/information, work with developers/programmers, create training documents and assist end-users is required.
  • Ability to offer on-site (involves travel) and off-site support (including off-hours) in stressful situations in a timely manner with due care and minimal supervision is required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, TEAMS and SharePoint is required.
  • Familiarity with ERP modules (Vendors, Purchasing, Receiving, Materials, Inventory, Manufacturing, Shipping, Customers, Accounting, Finance, etc.) is highly desirable.
  • Exposure to EDI standards (EDIFACT, ANSI X12), EDI documents (810, 820, 824, 830, 850, 856, 860, 861, 862, etc.) and connectivity options (VAN, FTP, HTTP, XML) is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency with current IT support/troubleshooting tools, mobile hand scanners, desktop or server-based reporting platforms, and IT Infrastructure Library Best Practices is a plus.
  • Experience dealing with at least one of the automotive manufacturers: BMW, Volkswagen, Volvo, General Motors, Stellantis, Honda, Toyota, Audi, Ford or multiple Tier-1 or Tier-2 automotive parts suppliers is a plus.

MINIMUM TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:
This position requires the following minimum training:
  • WHMIS/SDS
  • Quality, Environmental Health & Safety, and other relevant organization policy awareness
  • New Employee Orientation (when required)

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
  • Fluency in business communications in English
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work in a professional manner, be flexible, and handle interactions with all levels of the organization and with external clients.
  • Self-directed, organized, and motivated.
  • Meets expectation rating (rating score of 2 or 3) in all applicable Competencies as defined in the Performance Management Process.
  • The nature of the position requires candidates to travel on short-notice and be available for off- hours support of ERP modules and shipping/receiving issues.
  • One full-cycle ERP implementation at a discreet manufacturing facility is an asset.
