Description

Acara Solutions is looking for an Mechanical Engineer in the Jamestown, NY area! In this role you will coordinate programs and large projects utilizing the prepared proposal, budget, and customer specifications to provide computer generated drawings for fabrication while focusing on quality, safety, reducing cost, and cycle time.

Responsibilities:
  • Research, design, evaluate, install, operate, or maintain mechanical products, equipment, systems, or processes to meet requirements.
  • Update red-lines, estimates, quotes, drawings, BOM, schematics, etc. in real time as customer, engineering, and/or order requirements change.
  • Confer with engineering peers or other personnel to implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, or provide technical information.
  • Develop, coordinate, or monitor all aspects of production, including selection of manufacturing methods, fabrication, or operation of product designs.
  • Investigate equipment failures or difficulties to diagnose faulty operation and recommend remedial actions.
  • Develop or test models of alternate designs or processing methods to assess feasibility, sustainability, operating condition effects, potential new applications, or necessity of modification.
  • Specify system components or direct modification of products to ensure conformance with engineering design, performance specifications, or environmental regulations.
  • Research and analyze customer design proposals, specifications, manuals, or other data to evaluate the feasibility, cost, or maintenance requirements of designs or applications.
  • Follow projects through from sales proposal to shipment.  This includes, but is not limited to, sales files, BOM, purchasing requirements, documentation, correspondence, project management, customer interactions, customer approvals, manuals, build and production, programming, run-offs, debugging, shipping.
  • Support R&D initiatives.


 
Job Requirements

 
Required Skills / Qualifications:
  • Bachelors in Engineering with 5+ years experience OR Associates degree with 7+ years experience 
  • Proficient in AutoCAD
  • Must be able to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, or computer-generated reports
  • Must be able to understand pumps, piping, valves, electrical, steel fabrication, and machinery.
  • Project Management experience
  • Advanced math skills (algebra, trigonometry,  strength of materials, etc.) and use of industry related calculations and formulas
