Description
Acara solutions is looking for a Sourcing Specialist for our client located in Houston - TX
- Understanding of the strategic sourcing process deployed, including expenditure analysis, cross-functional team formation & management, Refax development & administration, proposal analysis, negotiations, and contract formation/execution
- Develop, administer and award RFP's, RFQ's and RFI's for) commodities, assets, and other assigned special projects; analyse responses to determine which response(s) complies with company's requirements and offers the best value
- Lead internal team conducting supplier negotiations for select sourcing efforts
- Assume responsibility for developing Memos of Understanding (MOUs), Statements of Work (SOW)s and contacts as needed; ensure company's interests are protected and the risk is identified, minimized, and managed in all contracts and relationships
- Coordinate with internal customers to identify needs, prepare specifications, identify options, and ensure purchases meet customers' requirements and are cost effective
- Compile and analyse data for commodity studies, Total Cost of Ownership reports and justification for buying decisions
- Stay current on market conditions and trends that impact flow, pricing, and availability of products
Job Requirements
Required Skills / Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or Engineering or Finance or Supply Management
- Minimum of 6 years' experience in a corporate environment
Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
- Maritime or Construction industry experience and highly
- Proficiency in Procurement Fundamentals, including P2P process execution, contract development, contract management, negotiations, and cost modelling
- Ability to leverage information management systems and analytical tools
- Proven negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Demonstrates proficient interpersonal skills, including consensus building, judgment, maturity, creativity and motivation/energy
- Competent with each commodity's technical terms and the ability to document and communicate these terms effectively with suppliers and customers
- Knowledge of General Accounting Principles, accounts payable processes, and financial reporting
- Knowledge of Uniform Commercial Code, contract management, supplier management, and contract law,
- Ability to regularly exercise discretion and independent judgment in the performance of his/her job duties
