Description
Acara Solutions is looking for a Technical Writer for our client located in Chapel Hill, NC
- Produce clear, accurate and consistent documentation for use in manufacturing processes as well as the Quality Management System; receive basic instruction on day-to-day work and general instructions on new assignments; use professional concepts and skills; apply company policies and procedures to resolve a variety of issues.
- Conducts interviews with various users and technical staff to gather data for documentation.
- Document engineering processes and specifications.
- Recommends formats responsive to technical and customer requirements.
- Produces products that conform to the company documentation and quality assurance standards.
- Employees whose primary responsibility is tracking documents and coordinating activities within product development, engineering services or manufacturing should be matched to Document Control Support (8331-8334) or Document Control Specialist (5301-5306).
- Employees whose primary responsibility is word processing text prepared by others should be matched to Administrative Support (9901-9904)
- Work with manufacturing managers, engineering, quality and other stakeholders to produce and maintain world-class documentation, including but not limited to: manufacturing work instructions, QMS work instructions, SOPs and DOPs.
- Build and maintain aids and other educational tools for training.
- Learn complex concepts and communicate the information in a way that is engaging and understood by users.
- Gather customer feedback on documentation to improve usability.
- Act as an editor to ensure consistency in training documentation.
- Monitor metrics on the usage of training materials as well as direct customer feedback to prioritize future training investments.
- Work with Regulatory team on submission deadlines and requirements as necessary
- Complete change control steps to release and implement final documentation utilizing client document management tool, (Engineering Change Order (ECO) processing) as needed
- Conduct validation and verification of technical documentation.
- Keep abreast of basic requirements for compliance in own area of work and comply with those requirements.
- Participate as needed in training on regulatory issues affecting own area of work.
- Escalate regulatory compliance questions/issues to the attention of management.
Pay and Benefits:
- The Salary for this position is $ 36.64 per hour (Max Pay rate).
Job Requirements
Required Skills / Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum of 2 years' Experience in working cross-departmentally to communicate the details of project.
- Minimum of 2 years' experience owning an end-to-end documentation creation process.
Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in communications, professional writing, English
- Minimum 2 years as a writer in a technical or medical device/life science environment
- Certificate in technical writing desirable.
- Verbal communication skills that include responding calmly under pressure; leading content review meetings that result in document approval.
- Software skills that include improving an existing document template, creating error-free PDF files
- Written and verbal communications.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to prioritize and work on multiple projects in a fast-paced, changing environment
- Efficiently and thoroughly address feedback on content from internal customers.
- Passionate about learning and developing.
- Enjoys working as part of a team in a collaborative environment
